The 41ft Sweden Yacht ‘Resonate’ is undergoing an extensive refit, both exterior and interior, to meet the specific needs of its owners. The goal is to make the yacht comfortable for living and working onboard, allowing the sailing duo Tim and Liesbeth to embark on their dream world trip from their floating home.
Exterior
Exterior The refit starts with the complete disassembly of the deck hardware, followed by a 3D scan of the deck. This is necessary to install a new Ecodeck, a sustainable polyurethane-based alternative to traditional teak. The hull, deckhouse, and cockpit will be repainted, retaining the original nautical white and blue colors. The underwater section will also be stripped and treated with a new antifouling system. Once these tasks are completed, the deck hardware will be remounted and optimized for better performance and handling.
Tim’s semi-professional sailing experience plays a key role in these upgrades, but it’s equally important that Liesbeth can easily manage the yacht when sailing solo. Tim will represent the Netherlands in the World Championship Offshore Double Handed in France by the end of September 2024. Additionally, both Tim and Liesbeth are enthusiastic cruisers and regular participants in long-distance races like the Scheveningen500 and the Colin Archer Memorial Race. This makes optimizing their yacht for performance essential.
Interior
Binnen wordt het interieur grondig vernieuwd. Nieuwe plafonds en vloeren worden gelegd, en het geheel krijgt een frisse laklaag. Er wordt nieuwe bekleding aangebracht, en verschillende timmerwerkzaamheden zorgen voor extra opbergruimte zoals de toiletruimte die wordt omgebouwd naar een technische ruimte. Apparatuur zoals de koelkast, verwarming en verlichting worden gemoderniseerd om het comfort en de functionaliteit aan boord te verbeteren.
