Meet sailor Femke Lobach; she will be giving a lecture about realising your dream sailing trip, Anneke Sips who will be sharing her cooking tips (preparing fish from catch to plate) on board, Jeroen Nauta who will be talking about his sailing trip to South Georgia (Antarctica) with his Hutting 45 and Tjerk Hutting who will be telling us about the future of Hutting Yachts with 2 new designs and his vision on Hybrid sailing yachts. This, in combination with delicious pastries and lunch from a corona-proof food truck, will make it an inspirational and festive day for and by sailors.
A world trip at sea: what happens when you step away from your day-to-day life? What do you experience when you live without internet, friends and family? Femke Lobach and her boyfriend completed a sailing trip around the world.
During the trip she wrote a travel blog, which grew a fan base of more than 1500 readers. This resulted in the book: ‘Overal Horizon‘, which was published on September 16th, 2020 and will be for sale at the open Hutting Yachts.
Femke and her boyfriend will be speaking at the open day about both the technical aspects and the preparation, the personal developments during the trip around the world and: “how do you realise your dreams?” As a mental coach in sports and business, Femke Lobach knows all about this. An inspiring and interactive lecture is guaranteed.
Floortje Dessing: “Being on board with Femke was a wonderful resting point for me in all my travels to impossible and beautiful places on earth. This is a beautiful, unique and personal story.”
What started with building wooden racing yachts in 1975 has grown into bespoke yachts among sailors: Hutting Yachts. After the successful line of Hutting sailing yachts designed by Dick Koopmans, Tjerk Hutting will be presenting two new, additional designs at the Open Day. They will not replace the designs as the demand for the classic Hutting sailing yachts remains. They will be an addition to the existing design, one with improved speed performance and the other a more modern line in collaboration with Hoek Design. Both designs can be executed as a Hybrid sailing yacht, because according to Tjerk: Hybrid Sailing Yachts are the future. Together with Stok-electric, he will provide more information about this during the presentation and during the open day.
Anneke Sips sailed from Mexico to Australia in 9 months with her partner. “But what do you eat on board?” was a common question. She wrote a travel cookbook and during the Open Day she will give an English presentation with information and tips about cooking onboard such as conserving food, the right cooking tools and she will show you how to prepare one of the most popular dishes from French Polynesia: Poisson Cru! During the entire open day, she will be present to give useful tips and you can buy her book; highly recommended. Would you like a preview? Read her blog+recipe here!
A 10-month solo sailing trip to the “Deep South”: Jeroen Nauta sailed with his Hutting 45 ‘Saltash’ from Rotterdam to Vuurland and South Georgia. A fascinating and impressive sailing trip that he will talk about during the Open Day: from preparing the route and ‘solo sailing’. A real must-see!
During the Open Day, several Koopmans Sailing yachts are available for viewings. All proven long-distance sailing yachts. View the overview here.
We would like to welcome you with delicious pastries from the traditional bakery Elsinga. We also offer a delicious lunch from ‘the Rolling Kitchen’. Pre-registration is not necessary.
Hope to see you in Makkum!
